Public Trust Building

442 Moray place, Dunedin

ADL Properties is known for acquiring and transforming iconic Dunedin buildings and the Public Trust Building is no exception. In 2006 ADL took over the building and renovations started shortly after in 2007. We gutted the entire building and rebuilt inside ensuring modern and contemporary spaces and prioritising earthquake-strengthening.

History

The Public Trust Building was designed by the renowned architect from Wellington, Cecil Woods. Woods designed all of the Public Trust buildings in New Zealand. Due to the age of the building we protected the facade. The external stonework on the building is Melbourne Lime Stone. This stone was shipped to Dunedin as the ship's ballast when the building was built in 1932.
