Cargill House
333 Princess Street, Dunedin
Cargill House has been designed with earthquake strengthening in mind, developed by a Professor of Engineering from The University of Canterbury. Originally designed to have six additional storeys, the building has support installed for a structure twice its size. In 2020, we completed a second refit of the building to provide modern office spaces for businesses of various sizes.
History
Cargill House, built in 1958, was originally the home of the Temperance and General Insurance Society of New Zealand. Dunedin’s original Cargill House changed its name to The Dunedin City Hotel, so we chose to use the name Cargill House as an acknowledgement of the city’s heritage, rather than selling naming rights to a business.
